Torched, Scorched and a Front Porch

Well. One of my frequent hiking haunts, Griffith Park, has gone up in flame and smoke. Looking at some news pictures, I’ve often hiked right through the burn area. My Mt. Hollywood Flickr photos are pretty much historical photos now - driving home I could see Mt. Hollywood and the whole side of it was blackened. I guess my next Griffith Park hike will be a very strange one. I was at a picnic there on Sunday, and I saw a picture of the area I was in. Everything around it was burned. Sad and freaky.

Seems a bunch of people I know are buying houses lately. Sheesh. Great for them of course - but damn I feel small. But that’s also because of a lot of personal and professional frustrations right now. It’s severely stressing me out.

Anyway. I’m not sure what else to talk about, but I’ll try and be more interesting in the days ahead.
