Mad props to Entertainment Weekly and their 25 funniest movies since 1983 (??) list. #25 is none other than Withnail and I, which reminds me terribly of Kyra and is goddamn hilarious. Other notables, Clerks at #21, Office Space at #5 and an absolutely classic Top 3.

Finally, the feud between Peter Jackson and MGM over The Hobbit has been solved. Jackson will be the executive producing the two Hobbit movies (thank god for 2 - fewer story cuts!) which will be filmed simultaneously. I’d prefer Jackson direct, for continuity, but this will have to do. I just hope they pick a […]

Last night I checked out a biopic on Edith Piaf, La Vie en Rose. I like Edith Piaf, she did have a pretty special voice. And I have some good memories associated with some of her music. But as to the woman herself, I knew very little. This movie tries to show the rise and […]

Since I was virtually abandoned to my own devices here in Burbank, I sometimes do things with an online social group to get out and meet people. Did you needto know that? Probably not. But there it is. Anyway, this week one of the outings was to go see Angel-A. I like this group because […]

Such is the premise, in a sense, of Children of Men. I’ll warn you now, I love stories like this one. So take that bias into account. I have a great affinity for dystopian tales.
Children of Men is set in England, 2027. There hasn’t been a child born on earth in 18 years. The entire […]
