Reasons I Am Excited About Anathem Before Reading It

So I just bought Anathem today. I can’t wait to read it, here’s some reasons why:

1. Hooray, Neal Stephenson!
2. Short - under 1000 pages! (If you read Baroque Cycle, you’ll realize I’m not kidding)
3. It has an analemma on the cover!
4. It’s not set in the past.
5. It sounds a little like A Canticle for Leibowitz - a classic story.
