2007 Year in Review
Published January 2nd, 2008January:
Went out with someone a few times, got rejected, got depressed, took some pictures, went to SF, failed at The Nail Problem.
February:
Got my own web domain. Feb 2007 was, and still is, the highest traffic month this blog has gotten. Goes to show it was all downhill from here. More hiking, more pictures.
March:
Had a crappy month at work, went out with someone (who was pretty cool, but I didn’t feel there was a match there, though evidently she was not in total agreement…oh well), hiked.
April:
Went to Vegas, didn’t enjoy myself much save for some pictures. Ate at a Barstow Del Taco (happens to be one of the, if not the, most common search term to lead to my site). Read a lot, I think.
May:
Some reading, some socializing in the Burbank area, and that was about it.
June:
Hiking, pictures, and not a whole lot of anything else.
July:
Quite the turning point of the year. Finally went to the dentist, set up a new checking account (with 4% interest), started speaking to the ex-girlfriend…
August:
Had my eyes fixed with frickin’ laser beams, turned 28, started dating the ex-girlfriend again (making her just girlfriend), had a minor existential crisis (that is as-yet not really resolved).
September:
Did…not a whole lot.
October:
Gave up on the Oracle certification, for the most part. Continued with existential crisis.
November:
Found a gray hair. Went to the LA Auto Show. Did the Thanksgiving thing. Got in a car accident with a police car, traded the car in the next day for a new Honda Civic Hybrid. Joined a D&D group to constructively let loose nerd energy.
December:
Seems like it was just last week…oh right… Did the Christmas thing. Had a slight positive shift in existential crisis. Got lots of people hooked on some board games.
So there you go, 2007 in a nutshell. Eventful, especially the last half. 2008 goals to follow…
LOL that grey hair really traumatized you, didn’t it?
Don’t be too worried about the sudden decline in traffic. Usually what happens to a blog is people start checking it out and then if they like it they add it to their reader. Of course this means less people actually go to your site.
But we still love ya!
Happy New Year!
That’s a good point I forgot about. Just for reference, I hovered around 15 feedreaders the entire lifetime of this site, until December, when it jumped to about 25.
I have no explanation for this.
