Quite the Cub-nundrum…
Published October 2nd, 2007Yeah that’s a bit of a stretch, but I’m feeling limber.
Tomorrow night, 7pm Pacific time, the Cubs-Diamondbacks series begins. I will be watching. I will be wearing my Cubs hat. I may even be at a Chicago-fans bar (though I may not). The problem for me arises at 8pm. I have book club. And I’ve read the book, and I want to go. (Yes I have been lax in my booklist updating duties. Damn me.) I am horribly torn. I may skip the Cubs bar and instead go to the bar of a Chevy’s next door to the bookstore. That way I can get in a full hour of the game. But at 8pm….*shudder*… I will have to leave. Damn these prior engagements! I know, some will ridicule me and say a “true” fan would skip book club - and I would if it was an elimination game. But it’s not. Still will be tough though.
Anyone with free text messaging want to text me the score every 20 minutes after 8pm tomorrow?
